Career Transitions is supporting an international Manufacturing operation who is adding an experienced and innovative IT Infrastructure Architect to join the team.
The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the architecture and infrastructure systems to support business operations and drive technology transformation. You are work closely with various stakeholders to ensure the infrastructure is scalable, secure, reliable, and aligned with organizational needs.
What you are doing as an IT Infrastructure Architect:
- Design, implement, and maintain the organization’s infrastructure architecture, ensuring it meets both current and future business requirements.
- Develop and document infrastructure strategies, processes, and best practices for scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, and security.
- Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools for system integration, storage solutions, and network architecture.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams to ensure infrastructure solutions meet technical, performance, and security standards.
- Communicate technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Provide guidance to IT teams in the planning, design, and execution of infrastructure projects.
- Continuously monitor infrastructure performance, identifying areas for optimization and improvement.
- Implement automation and orchestration solutions to improve efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and enhance scalability.
- Oversee the performance and capacity management of the infrastructure, ensuring it supports business continuity and growth.
- Design and enforce infrastructure security best practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Manage risk assessments, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity procedures to mitigate infrastructure risks.
What you need as an IT Infrastructure Architect:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure design, architecture, or systems engineering.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), data centers, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, virtualization technologies, storage solutions, and security practices.
- Expertise in designing and implementing highly available, fault-tolerant, and secure IT infrastructures.
- Strong knowledge of server and storage technologies, networking, and cloud architecture.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems issues.
- Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation a plus.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Certifications (Preferred):
Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect).
Infrastructure-related certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP, VMware VCP, ITIL) a plus.
